Memory: Its Persistence and Loss in Christian Community is the collected proceedings of the 38th annual Atlantic Theological Conference held in Sackville, New Brunswick in late June of 2018.

This conference explored the idea of memory, its role in shaping Christian communities, and what it means for memory individual and collective to be lost. Our speakers and responders spoke on this topic from various perspectives including Biblical accounts of memory, St. Augustine, sacramental memory, Christian art, poetry (specifically T.S. Eliot), the Anglican tradition and the Book of Common Prayer, and more.

Contents:

  1. "And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children" (Deut. v 7): The Scriptural Account of Divine and Human Memory for the Gathering and Binding of the Community by The Rev'd Dr. Terence Kleven
  2. The Role of Memory in St. Augustine's Trinity by Dr. Neil Robertson
  3. God's Remembering and Forgetting: Confession and the Forgiveness of Sins by Elizabeth King
